Barry's TV Show Field Trip
In the fall of 1994, Barry began hosting and starring in Field Trip, an entertaining and educational television show that aired nationally in cities all across the United States for many years. Barry acted as a guide to a group of kids as they explored museums and historical locales on these nationally televised "field trips." These twenty-six shows were broadcast nation-wide; then put on Cable in the Classroom, an educational television network; then appeared overseas on the Armed Forces TV network and in clips on PBS. Some of the shows were then turned into educational videos for the school and library market.
In the first year on the air, Field Trip won accolades from teachers and educators and went on to win two Emmy Awards for quality children's television. Then the show was taken off the air. Over the years, Barry hosted twenty six different Field Trips. Some of the locations visited were:
