Hiram Versions Explained

The original ten word version of My Name is Hiram Lipshlitz appeared on Barry's second album, My Brother Thinks He's a Banana.

Barry's third album, Naughty Songs for Boys and Girls, contained a piece called My Name is Hiram Lipshlitz, Jr and it went like this:

My name is Hiram Lipshlitz and my problem's pretty clear:
My name is often mis-pronounced by unaccustomed ears.
Sometimes they call me Lipshitz, sometimes it's Hiram who?
Oh to be a Bob a Bill a Mike a Steve or Lou.

Barry's second album was out of print for a few years and when his third album was released on CD, Barry decided the shorter version was funnier, so he used the original version, cutting the last three lines.

Besides, ears are unable to pronounce or mis-pronounce anything.
